Sterylkobus odwiedził gminę Rybno

The sterile bus visited the commune of Rybno

On September 12, 2021, the sterility bus 2 visited the commune of Rybno, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The donation obtained from NOWEFIO enabled us to organize the mobile sterilization of owner dogs and cats.

During the action 53 animals were castrated: 9 bitches, 8 dogs, 26 females (including 3 pregnant) and 10 males. 17 animals were chipped and entered into the database of electronically tagged animals.

An approximately three-year-old female who found her way to the operating table was very lucky. The castration procedure saved her life. As it turned out from the interview before the procedure, the owner of the bitch, wanting to protect the dog from pregnancy, gave her hormonal injections. This most likely led the bitch to pyrethra, an infection of the uterus which is a medical condition in untreated dogs and cats. In the uterus of such an animal purulent discharge accumulates, and the produced toxins begin to enter the blood and "poison" the dog or cat - they can damage organs, especially the animal's kidneys. The causes of pyomyeloma are probably hormonal disorders and the penetration of bacteria through the open cervix in the fluid and the inflammation caused by them.

Untreated pyoma, especially its closed variety, is a threat to the bitch's life! It is a purulent, ticking bomb in the body dog or catwhich at any time can lead to sepsis, shock, infection of internal organs, and even uterine rupture and death. Remember, hormone therapy is not a good idea to protect your pet from pregnancy. The only proper, effective method is castration.

The causes are probably hormonal disorders and the penetration of bacteria through the open cervix and the inflammation caused by them.

The action lasting several hours was not easy, but it brought our team a lot of satisfaction. We would like to thank all those involved in organizing and carrying out the campaign. We would like to thank the Head of the Rybno Commune for the kind welcome and commitment to the action.

Kolejna akcja mobilnej sterylizacji za nami.

Another mobile sterilization campaign is behind us.

Another mobile sterilization campaign is behind us. We went to the Kozłowo commune in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The action was possible thanks to the funds obtained from the NOWEFIO project.

A day of very intense work resulted in 53 castrated animals. Castration procedures were performed on: 15 females, 9 males, 23 females and 6 males. Three pregnant cats, a female with a tumor and a hernia, found the operating table. There were dogs in the hair of several cats and tapeworms inside their bodies. These animals were given appropriate anti-parasitic agents. 24 animals were tagged and entered in the register of animals.

During the campaign, we were unexpectedly visited by Agnieszka Lechowicz, the President of the Animal Defense Association from Jędrzejów, which is the owner of the sterile bus we use, and a representative of the Zwierz Foundation.

The action in Kozłów was very popular. About 140 animals were registered for the treatments. Unfortunately, we were unable to perform the treatments on all animals in such a short time. If the Kozlov authorities are willing to cooperate, we may come back to this commune next year.

We would like to thank the whole team for their great commitment, professionalism and several hours of work during the campaign. Our People are the Best, and we take great pride in being and contributing together to reduce homelessness! Dr. Mariusz, Mrs. Dr. Marysia, Mrs. Technician Ania, Sylwia, Elu, Marcin, Kubo, Marto, Justyna, Wiktoria, Mrs. Dorothy, Thank you for your time and work. We would like to thank Ola for cookies and Ewa for a delicious dinner, which strengthened the strained forces of the sterile bus team. We would like to thank the Head of the Commune and Employees of Kozłowo Commune for preparing the campaign.

SEKCJA WOLONTARIUSZY NA OBOZIE W MIELNIE

VOLUNTEERS SECTION AT THE CAMPS IN MIELNO

With our association as part of the project "ANIMAL IS ALSO IMPORTANT!" a volunteer section was established, under the care of Mrs. Aldona Nowakowska on behalf of our organization. Volunteers will take care of animals in "Przytulisko", will conduct a happening on animal rights, for which we invite you this Saturday (September 4, 2021) to Samin.

In order to integrate the group of volunteers, a 3-day integration and training camp was organized. A group of volunteers and a guardian left on August 8-10, 2021, to the Holiday Park & Resort in Mielno. During their stay, the volunteers participated in training on volunteering, worked out ideas for future educational campaigns on animal rights. Apart from acquiring knowledge, they used the attractions of the center.

The cost of the camp and volunteer training was entirely financed by the NOWEFIO Civic Initiatives Fund for the years 2021 - 2030 as part of the ZWIERZ IS IMPORTANT! Project.
